Saskatoon Guitar Lessons Teacher - Melissa Nygren

Melissa Nygren

Prairie Songstress Music is owned and operated by Melissa Nygren. As a singer/songwriter she has had the pleasure of touring across Canada and overseas. She has released 5 albums with various bands and continues to write, record and perform. This experienced prairie songstress has never hesitated to spread her music in a journey that’s taken her from the back porch to big stages in more than a decade of writing, performing and collaborating.

Maria Himbeault

Maria Himbeault has been an instructor with Prairie Songstress Music since 2016. Throughout this time she has enjoyed watching her students learn and grow as musicians and as people. Music has always been an important aspect of Maria’s life and has shaped her into the person she is today. Therefore, she believes that the music lessons she provides should be educational, confidence building, and most importantly, fun for her students! Furthermore, Prairie Songstress Music itself has been an important aspect of her life as she began taking lessons with Melissa Nygren at the age of 11. Maria also has a background in up to grade 7 Royal Conservatory Piano, playing Tuba in Snösvänget Orchestra at the University of Umeå in Sweden, and taking part in local Musical Theatre productions with Saskatoon Summer Players. Maria is offering guitar, voice, ukulele and songwriting lessons online as well as in-person at our 213 2nd St. East studio location in Saskatoon.

Clarenz Salvador

As a jazz musician and a chorister, Clarenz is not a stranger to the joys of creating music with other musicians. Clarenz plays the guitar, piano, and bass. She has her grade 5 Conservatory Certification in piano, has been playing guitar for several years, and has self-taught on the bass since 2012. She has been singing for almost her whole life, and has had numerous experience colaborating with a number of different singers. Over the years, she has been involved in a variety of musical groups, like the Greystone Singers and the Saskatoon Youth Jazz Orchestra. She is very excited to share her musical knowledge with other aspiring musicians! Clarenz is offering piano, voice, guitar and bass lessons at our Estey Drive studio location.


Aeryal Mongovius - Saskatoon Guitar Teacher.jpeg

Aeryal Mongovius

At the age of 6, Aeryal Mongovius began taking guitar lessons at Prairie songstress music. She grew a passion for preforming and writing music over the years. She recently preformed at Ness Creek, and won The Sasktel Searching For Stars competition in November of 2018. Aeryal is currently attending the music program at UBC. She has always loved playing music and enjoys teaching just as much! Aeryal is offering online guitar and voice lessons.

Emily Palmer

Emily has been singing and playing piano since she was 6 years old. She is a member of the Fireside Singers, Acoustic theory, and Greystone Singers. She has also performed in Saskatoon bands on the saxophone. Emily has her grade 4 Conservatory Certification in piano. She loves to share her love of music with her students and watch them form their own musicality. Emily is teaching piano and voice lessons at our studio, 2811 Estey Drive in Saskatoon.


Mariam Salvador

Music has always been a big part of Mariam's life. She has been playing the violin for over 10 years and has completed her Level 7 and Level 8 Royal Conservatory of Music Practical Exams. She has competed in multiple music festivals including the Saskatoon Music Festival. She is also self-taught on the piano and guitar and has been playing these instruments since 2014. Her performance experience ranges from school events to open mics. Mariam will be teaching violin, piano and guitar at our Estey Drive location and will also be offering in-home lessons in Saskatoon East and South side areas.
