Prairie Songstress Music provides custom guitar, voice and songwriting lessons. The lessons are fun, effective, and tailored to meet the interests and learning style of each individual.  Lessons are available in your own home or in our studio.

  • Beginner, intermediate, and advanced guitar, ½ hour per week
  • Guitar/Voice/Songwriting blend, ½ hour per week
  • Voice lessons, ½ hour per week
  • hour long lessons are available for advanced students

What You Need

  • acoustic or electric guitar
  • battery powered tuner
  • capo
  • light gauge guitar picks
  • guitar humidifier (for acoustic guitars)
  • binder or duotang

Locations

In-home Lessons: We offer guitar lessons in the comfort of your own home!  Available in many East-side areas, including Erindale, Arbor Creek, Sliver Springs, Lakeridge areas, Stonebridge and more.  A quiet space free from distraction is needed.
Voice lessons: St. Martin’s Church, located at 2617 Clarence Ave. South. 
Guitar lessons: Unitarian Centre, 213 2nd Street East (East side).

 

Student Performances

There will be an opportunity for the students to perform in a theatre setting at the end of the season.


Year End Recording Project

Available in May.  At the end of each season students can record a song at Workhorse Productions!  Includes a tour of the studio, one hour of recording time and the participant gets to take home a CD with a recording of their song!  One of the students will design the art for the cover of the CD.  This project has proven to be a fun and inspirational experience!
