Summer Music Camps

Basic skill building (guitar/ukulele)

A fun afternoon to build on what you’ve learned so far and work out some kinks or overcome some of the challenges students may be facing. Play with rhythm’s, keeping/finding the beat, strumming through cord changes, hand positions, playing tabs, using all the fingers. Jamming and making new friends!

Jamming 101 (guitar/ukulele/voice)

Learn and play some traditional folk songs in a traditional jamming circle! Work on learning how to make up your own solo. This day camp is for youth age 7-15 who already have some basic guitar or ukulele skills. Also open to vocalists. Jam in pairs and also in group settings. This afternoon will be a fun gathering full of play, creativity and friendship.

Songwriting (Guitar/ukulele/voice)

Spend the afternoon writing songs in a group setting, with 2 experienced prairie songstresses, Melissa Nygren and Maria Himbeault. Learn all about everything that goes into making a song, musically and lyrically and get your creative flow happening in this session. Songs will be recorded at the end of this session for a keepsake.
